FAMILY SUPPORT AND CHILDREN'S JUSTICE CENTER

America Reads is an elementary literacy project. Volunteers go into classrooms on a regular basis to help students who need extra attention and help teachers to plan and prepare lessons. If you are interested in volunteering with this project call Stasi Barton at 613-1402.

The Mission provides shelter, food, and clothing to anyone in need. The Mission also helps homeless get back on their feet, fill out paperwork, write resumes, find jobs, etc. Volunteers serve dinner at the Mission and also volunteer in their thrift store. The Center provides childcare in case of family emergency, medical appointments, legal appointments, etc. The Center is also a transitional home for children waiting for placement in a foster care home. Youth and Families with Promise volunteers mentor at-risk youth ages 10-14. Mentors meet once a week with the child and do fun activities. Mentors serve as role models for the children. If you are interested in volunteering with this project call Mary Frandsen at 637-6331.
