The Career and Volunteer Service Center office maintains a resource center to assist you with your career planning and career searching. Materials include videos, a book library and computer software programs.

Career Computer Programs - SIGGI and CHOICES are programs that offer information on over 450 occupations to include salaries, employment outlook and required training and education. Students may also use the computers in the library to compose resumes, cover letters, and access career information on the World Wide Web.

Obtain valuable career information about more than 450 occupations.

Learn how to make informed decisions, especially as they relate to educational and career plans.

Gather detailed information concerning two-year colleges, four -year colleges, and graduate schools.

CHOICES - CHOICES engages students in an interactive process that builds self-knowledge, encourages them to explore occupations and schools, and helps them plan for the future. Multimedia and a friendly search process lead students to consider many options.

The connections between occupations, majors, and schools (all on one screen) and the RoadMap make it easy for students to use Choices on their own. Direct hyperlinks to key web sites enrich career exploration.

Book Library - Our Book library contains books and manuals covering topics such as career trends, employer directories, internship opportunities, interview and resume preparation, career directories for specific careers and catalogs from Universities and Colleges in Utah and throughout the Western United States.

Video Library - The Career Center Video library provides a valuable resource for career planning. Video categories include career planning, educational planning, interviewing skills, job hunting, resume writing, self employment, and career survival.

Handouts - The Career and Volunteer Service Center also maintains a variety of career related brochures and handouts covering topics such as job success skills, preparing resumes and cover letters, dress and grooming for success, tips for finding a job, and job application tips.

Seasonal/Internships - The Career and Volunteer Service Center office maintains a file of nationwide internship and seasonal work opportunities as well as detailed job descriptions for employment opportunities throughout the State of Utah and nationwide.

Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) - Is now available on line and in printed form. It contains detailed information on almost 13,000 occupations. Each description includes an occupational code, a title, and industry designation, basic tasks, strength requirements, and general information on required education and training.

Department of Workforce Services Labor Market Information - An on-line website that provides detailed labor market information on Utah Occupational wages by county, Utah job outlook in brief, licensed occupations in Utah, Utah career guide, job seekers guide to Utah, and county economic newsletters.
