A. The Career and Volunteer Service Center can
assists students and members of the community in
choosing a career, developing career
plans and making career changes. Resources include
a comprehensive career library with audio-visual materials,
workshops and seminars, the opportunity to have one-on-one
interviews with the career counselor and employers,
take personality and aptitude assessments, assistance
with
resumes and cover letter preparation, computer lab,
and career oriented handouts.

A. The Career and Volunteer Service Center can
offer assistance in making career decisions based
on individual counseling, self
assessment testing, computer assisted guidance counseling,
and formalized personality and skills testing.

a new careers I am considering?
A. The Career and Volunteer Service Center has
a Resource Library with information
on all careers and occupations.
Also available as a resource are two computer assisted
programs SIGGI and CHOICES. Individual counseling
is also available.

Is there any information available about other schools?
A. The Career and Volunteer Service Center Resource
Library maintains an up-to-date listing of College
and University catalogs
from Utah as well as the Western United States. Information
can also be accessed through CHOICES or SIGGI computer
programs.
Q. Is the College of Eastern Utah
Career and Volunteer Service Center only available
to current
students?
A. No, the Career and Volunteer Service Center
is open to all students, alumni, faculty, employers,
and the general public.
Individual appointments are not required but are preferred.

A. There are no charges for the services provided
to anyone through the Career and Volunteer Service
Center. There maybe some charges for taking the Career
Assessment Tests through the College
Testing Center.

College?
A. The Student Employment Office located in the
Career and Volunteer Service Center maintains job
listings in the Center.
The Center lists temporary, part-time employment
opportunities for students, many of which offer flexible
schedules to accommodate classes. Each of these jobs
is also listed on the Student Employment Page. Other
part-time jobs are listed through the Utah State Department
of Workforce Services web page at http://jobs.utah.gov.

A. The Career Employment Services Office within
the Career and Volunteer Service Center maintains
a listing of nationwide job
openings and career opportunities for access by students
and alumni. Additional information is available by
accessing the employment links.

there a way to get credit for my work experience?
A. Through the Cooperative Education and Internship
program, students may receive college academic credit
for their work experience based on the completion of
structured learning objectives. For more information,

can be posted at the Career and Volunteer Service Center
and can also be posted with the Department
of Workforce Services.
Q. What kind of information does
the Career and Volunteer Service Center need to help
me find a job or to get registered for
work?
A. Students seeking employment may register
with the Career and Volunteer Service Center Office
to assist them in finding
employment. Registration for employment assists the
counselor in finding employment that matches their
experience, skills, and aptitude. Basic Registration
information needed is Name, Social Security Number,
Local Address, Phone Number, and Date of Birth.
Q. Can a student get credit for
volunteer service?
A. Students can receive credit for volunteer service
in the community if enrolled in a Recreational Service
Learning Class. They may receive Service Scholar
Honors at graduation for service of 200 hours and
6 credit hours of service learning. A student may
receive a $1,000.00 educational award from the
corporation for national and community service. for
volunteering 300 hours during a years time. For information
